On January 8, 2026, China's Ministry of Finance and State Taxation Administration issued Announcement No. 2 [2026] on Adjusting Export Tax Refund Policies for Photovoltaic and Other Products. The announcement states that, effective April 1, 2026, the export VAT refund will be canceled for a range of products, including various glass and glass products such as optical glass, safety glass, insulating glass, glass containers, glassware, glass fiber products, substrate glass for LCD panels, and conductive glass.
